Novotel Citygate Hong Kong

For our two-day stopover in Hong Kong, we chose the Novotel Citygate due to its proximity to the airport. The location is excellent—it is practically built into a shopping mall with tons of restaurants and shops, it takes just 30 minutes by MTR to Central, and it is right next to the cable car for the Big Buddha. We booked two rooms for a family with two teenagers and got them on the floor right next to the executive lounge. As a Platinum member, we received all the benefits, which they also extended to the children's room (thank you!). The hotel is pleasant, the rooms are on the smaller side but comfortable, the breakfast is decent, and the staff is very friendly. The only thing is that the executive lounge could be a bit better, as the selection there is quite limited.

We had a wonderful 5-day, 4-night stay at Novotel Citygate Hong Kong in Tung Chung as a family of six, including a senior and a child last May 9 - May 13, 2026. The location was excellent, with easy access to major attractions like Disneyland (one MTR away) , Ngong Ping 360, the Big Buddha, Macau Bus Terminal, and Hong Kong city center. The complimentary airport shuttle was also a huge plus, making travel with our family and luggage very convenient. A special thanks to our fellow Filipino bellboy, who was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. His warm attitude and assistance made a great impression on us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent from check-in to check-out. Overall, everything was smooth and hassle-free. We highly recommend Novotel Tung Chung for families. Our stay was truly memorable, and we would happily stay here again.

I stayed in room 1133 for 2 nights from 17 - 19 April 2026. I was pleasantly surprises when I saw the room, because I expected a 2 star hotel room, but found a 4 star room. Johnny at Reception checked me in very professionally and the ladies from Housekeeping took good care of my room. Water was provid in carton containers. The hotel is situated inside a huge and modetn shopping centre and is a few minutes walk from Tung Chung MTR station. The Saturday morning I took the train to Disneyland which was a 20 minute train ride away. I slept peacefully on both nights and I did not hear any traffic noise. Breakfast was very nice. And I was allowed to stay until 1.00 o'clock before checking out. A free shuttle was provided to Chek Lap Kok airport. I shall stay at Novotel Citygate Tung Chung again if I need an hotel near the airport with reasonable rates. 🫠

We had a lovely stay at Novotel Citygate Hong Kong and would definitely recommend it—especially for convenience and accessibility. The location is a huge plus. It’s very close to the airport and Hong Kong Disneyland, and just a few minutes away from Ngong Ping 360, which made exploring super easy. The hotel also offers a free airport shuttle, which was incredibly helpful for our trip. Another thing we loved is that the hotel is directly connected to Citygate Outlets, so everything you need is right there—shopping, restaurants, and even the MTR, which made getting around very convenient, especially since we were travelling with two seniors and a child. The mall also has a grocery store where you can buy affordable ready-made meals—perfect if you’re travelling on a budget. Honestly, we were surprised by how generous the servings were! The rooms were clean and comfortable. One small note is that the room my parents and I stayed in felt a bit older compared to the newer room my sisters and niece had—but overall still very pleasant. We did have a minor issue with the air conditioning in our room, but the staff handled it quickly and professionally by transferring us to another room, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was also delicious with a good variety to start the day right. Overall, if you’re looking for a convenient place to stay near the airport with easy access to transport, shopping, and food options, this hotel is a great choice! 😊
