CRUISE PROGRAM: 4-day / 3-night Amazon River Cruise package roundtrip from Iquitos. The program includes cabin accommodation, all meals onboard, selected house wines, beer and non-alcoholic drinks, twice daily expert-led excursions, laundry, wifi and National Park entrance fees.
Rise before dawn for a birdwatching session along the Amazon River — its banks dramatically expanded by high water season into a vast flooded landscape of extraordinary biodiversity. After breakfast, board expedition skiffs for an excursion along the Yanayacu Yacapana River — a pristine tributary transformed into a flooded forest corridor where skiffs glide silently beneath the jungle canopy. Keep watch for parrots, hawks, monkeys, and three-toed sloths brought to eye level by the risen waters — encounters impossible at any other time of year. As evening falls, embark on a magical wildlife excursion along the dark, atmospheric black waters of the Nauta Caño River — one of the Amazon's most hauntingly beautiful waterways.
Begin near the entrance of Pacaya Samiria National Reserve — one of earth's most biodiverse protected areas — cruising the Yanayacu Pucate River as high water season floods the surrounding forest into a spectacular aquatic landscape. Test your nerve with piranha fishing while naturalist guides scan for extraordinary wildlife along this remarkable waterway. Step ashore to visit a welcoming ribereño village for an authentic encounter with traditional riverside life, including an Aguaje palm harvesting demonstration. Glide through black waters by canoe or take a refreshing swim, watching for legendary pink river dolphins thriving in the flooded forest. In the afternoon, explore Casual's Forest for medicinal trees, remarkable insects, and elusive poison dart frogs.
