This place is an absolute gem and I can only recommend it to anyone traveling to Mauritius! Firstly, the hotel is very nice, clean, well kept, it has a big pool and access to the sea from a sandy beach. Additionally, there is a diving center and options to rent free of charge kayaks, paddle boards, sign up for snorkelling and much more, all for free which was amazing and only enhanced the whole experience. On top of that, since it is a golf resort, we must mention amazing golf courses that are contracted with the hotel. Thanks to Rajeev, we were able to play at an amazing Mont Choisy golf course for a very affordable price (50€ green fee) as well as at Ille aux Cerfs (~120€)! The hotel does all the reservations, including transport and rental of clubs (for Mont Choisy le golf course), so thanks to them we had an amazing time! For spa and gym, there is a small gym with some basic equipment from TechnoGym and there is also a private sauna (hamam) where you can sign up in advance free of charge. There are a lot of other activities like archery, padel, tennis, etc., all included in the price. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed daily themed dinners of local and international cuisine. Additionally, there are two restaurants à la carte - Navigator and Serenata. We booked our spot in both and it was amazing, the food was delicious and very nicely served. As a recognition from the management we got a little surprise of special seafood dinner, which took us by surprise and we were very touched by the way we were treated during our whole stay. There is not a single negative thing I would mention about the place, it was an absolute blast and we sincerely thank the staff of the hotel for their friendly hospitality and for always going above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Our stay at Beachcomber Canonnier exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality from every member of the team. The food was absolutely incredible. The buffet, both restaurants, and even the food truck were outstanding — fresh, flavourful, beautifully prepared, and consistently high quality. The food truck in particular was such a unique and memorable addition to the experience! The resort itself is stunning, and we can’t stop talking about how dreamy the location was. Between the beautiful surroundings, delicious food and drinks, immaculate grounds, and exceptional service, every detail felt thoughtfully considered. From the airport transfers to the daily room service and housekeeping, everything was seamless and effortless. The staff were always friendly, engaging, helpful, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. We left feeling rested, grateful, and already dreaming about our return. It was our first vacation on the island of Mauritius and at this resort. Just one word - amazing. Great location, friendly, smiling, helpful staff from the welcome on, cozy superior room with a beautiful garden view, beautiful beaches, lots of activities - mini golf is awesome :) The evening live music performances were great. And let's not forget - FOOD and DRINKS :) excellent - a wide selection of dishes, drinks, fruits, pastries. The themed dinners were also interesting, like Mediterranean, Asian, Italian... As the famous qoute of writer Mark Twain: "You gather the idea that Mauritius was made first, and then heaven; and that heaven was copied after Mauritius."
Beachcomber Canonnier was truly an unforgettable experience.🫶🏽 From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. A special mention goes to the bar manager, whose friendliness and professionalism immediately made me feel at home. I was also pleasantly surprised by how approachable and kind the Director of Canonnier was, taking the time to interact with guests and ensuring everyone felt welcome. What impressed me most was the exceptional service throughout the resort. Every time I visited the buffet, I was greeted with smiles by the team and even by the chefs themselves. These small gestures created a welcoming atmosphere that made the experience feel very personal. The food was simply fabulous, with a wonderful variety of delicious dishes prepared to a very high standard. Every meal was a delight. The beautiful lighting at night creates a surreal atmosphere, turning it into true paradise.Walking around in the evening was peaceful, and simply breathtaking. What makes Beachcomber Canonnier stand out is its people. Everyone is genuinely welcoming and goes out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and at ease.☺️ Of all the places I have visited, this is one that has left a lasting impression on me. First time in Mauritius, and this hotel was definitely a great choice. Here are some practical tips and observations: ✅ The hotel cuisine is phenomenal. Throughout the week, you can enjoy a variety of themed dining experiences, including seafood, international dishes, and Mauritian fusion cuisine. This was honestly one of the best surprises of our entire stay. ✅ The service and staff are outstanding. Everyone is friendly, smiling, and genuinely helpful. For Europeans, it can almost feel uncomfortable at first because the staff takes such excellent care of you. They are attentive to every detail and practically won’t even let you pour your own glass of water. ✅ Hotel activities and entertainment. Personally, I didn’t make much use of them, but there is something happening every day. Even if you arrive without any plans, you can easily join the daily program organized by the hotel, including water activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking, and more. ❌ There are two main drawbacks: the beaches and the pools. Unfortunately, the beaches around the hotel are very shallow, making swimming difficult. I would recommend walking outside the resort to the nearby public beach, which is absolutely beautiful. The resort pools are designed primarily for small children, and their depth reflects that. ❌ The gym could be larger and better equipped. It is quite small and offers only basic facilities. Overall, I would still give this hotel 5⭐️, despite these minor shortcomings, which are not significant enough to affect the overall experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Practical tip ✅ If you plan to explore the south and west of Mauritius, keep in mind that the drive to the south takes approximately 1–1.5 hours by car, especially during the morning rush hour. There isn’t that much to see in the north compared to other parts of the island. Tips for runners 🏃 ❌ Mauritius has virtually no sidewalks or dedicated cycling paths. This means you will need to run on the roads. There are also no proper running routes in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
