Movenpick Hotel Windhoek

Very beautiful place but poor service we sat in the restaurant for slightly over 20 minutes with out any wait staff coming to attend to us we had to walk out to have dinner elsewhere, because it seemed they were too busy attending to other guests. I would not recommend this place for any meals so pathetic with service.

This is for the restaurant, didn’t stay over at the hotel: Terrible experience. Terrible service. Terrible attitude from the waiter. We came for the Oil & Gas conference in Namibia and decided to sit by the restaurant for late lunch. Waited for drinks for an hour - the drinks never came. No water ATLEAST as we waited. Most wine bottles were not in stock, when we picked the one we wanted, they brought the wrong one. The restaurant was basically empty, we were the only ones seated at the time. It was about 17:00. I don’t know if it was just a bad day or if this is the standard. Not impressed. Wouldn’t recommend. Never returning. Quite distasteful. We cancelled our orders and left eventually. Never experienced something like this before.

Very nice hotel. Easy to find using Google Maps or Tracks4Africa on a Garmin GPS. Nice parking lot. Friendly and welcoming staff, both at the reception but also at the restaurant. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. My suite was huge! It was a very pleasant surprise and I did enjoy the bathtub (especially after the long flight) and also the complimentary fruit they left me ❤️ The only thing about the room: you can hear some traffic noises, so bring earplugs (I always sleep with earplugs anyway as I’m rather sensitive to noises whilst sleeping). The swimming pool area is charming but in mid June the weather is not very hot (it’s their winter), so I didn’t try to swim as it was rather cold. I really enjoyed the gym, though. Very well equipped with machines by a very well-known brand, free weights and mats. I did some workouts here and it was great to be able to exercise during my vacation. The breakfast buffet was also nice, with everything you need (just don’t arrive too late or you’ll have less options available). I also had dinner at their restaurant, Mirage, and it was delicious. Highly recommended!

A hotel that could easily be top-notch. Coffee, milk, and sugar for the room were almost always a problem... it wasn't available (incredibly), and we called the reception numerous times. The restaurant menu for lunch and dinner was limited. The breakfast was good and the rooms were comfortable. The reception was very friendly. Tjiponda best waiter in the Hotel.
