It’s ironic, reviews are only done when the experience was great or horrible, this one was horrible. This review will only focus on the restaurant since we didn’t use the bedrooms. HORRIBLE!!! Let’s begin with no vegetarian options. Decided to order a plate of jollof rice, when it arrived it was just a sad small bowl. Waited over 1:30 for food. Usually I’m patient but when the price doesn’t reflect the service it’s a bad sign. Ordered 3 dishes, when it finally arrived the fries were cold, and one of the dishes was not our order. The “manager” I presume gaslit us into thinking we ordered wrong… we didn’t. Had to ask repeatedly when our actual would arrive. Never once apologized for the wrong order or the cold fries. After all of this he couldn’t even offer us the order he messed up. It was hilarious seeing him make up his mind to see whether he would let us have it for free or return to the kitchen to be thrown out. 45k for this… really shame. Maybe bring your own food.

An absolutely wonderful experience at Ruhondo Beach Resort. I was here with a large group and they were very accommodating and friendly. The view was amazing, as was the food. Some of the rooms have been renovated and I am sure the other rooms will be renovated soon! Thanks for the great time and memories!
Ruhondo Beach resort is such a peaceful and beautiful place ,perfect if you want to escape the city and just relax. The views of Lake Ruhondo are amazing, with green hills all around, and the whole atmosphere is very calm and refreshing. The setup is simple but comfortable, and it has a really nice, laid-back vibe. It’s a great spot to hang out with friends or even enjoy some quiet time by yourself. The service was very good as well. The manager, Jimmy, and the waiter, Ivan, were both friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely go back. If you’re looking for a chill place with beautiful views, Ruhondo Beach resort is worth it.
The staff here are super friendly! The road up is rough, so a high-clearance vehicle is a must. You get a key to your own private room with a toilet and shower. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were delicious and very reasonably priced. Plus, the views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes are absolutely stunning. Truly worth the trip! We paid $15 per night for 2 persons and car with rooftoptent.
nice and quiet place, but take care not to be ripped off. They wanted, that I pay 120 $ for a room, which is available at booking.com for 80 $ (with genius 3 for 69 $). In the evening I wanted to get the half of the chicken with rice. Which is on their menu 15.000 Rwandan money for half of the chicken and 6.000 for rice. I asked if I could get 2 chicken legs instead of the half chicken. No problem. And I asked if I could get the rice, whith one or two eggs. No problem. But to my big surprise they charged me 45.000 for that, without mentioning before that these little two extras, would more than double the price. When I complained that, the extra charge is much to much, they insisted I had to pay it. I paid it, but would like to warn other guests, to be very careful.
