Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport in Costa Rica, your private driver will be waiting at the terminal exit to welcome you. After assisting with your luggage, you will be transferred directly to your hotel in the San José area, where you will spend your first night.

This morning, travel to Costa Rica’s Northern Caribbean Lowlands, passing through Braulio Carrillo National Park, where rainforest views line the highway. At Caño Blanco Dock, board a boat for a scenic 2.5-hour ride to Tortuguero National Park — a paradise of rainforest, mangroves, swamps, and beaches, home to wildlife like caimans, monkeys, and over 400 bird species. After lunch, visit the village of Tortuguero, a car-free community known for its Afro-Caribbean culture and sea turtle conservation.
