Gran Melia Arusha

Absolutely incredible hotel. Everything was perfection: the room, the view, the food, the service. The morning and evening buffet was some of the best food we’ve ever had. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly, with great tastes. The garden was so beautiful. Real coffee farm on it. Very cool plants and birds. We are harsh critics and this hotel had it all.

Great room, service and location. Rooftop bar had an amazing view and vibe. Only downside was I ordered the steak there medium which came out well done. This was returned which came out rare. I ended up returning both steaks and settling for some entrees and bread which were nice. However, they wanted to charge me full price for the steak despite me sending it back twice. After some back and forth they agreed to take off a dessert and drink to cover. Although this should not have happened and I was still made to pay full price for a steak I barely touched. Other than that, cannot fault much else. Although the server stated the steak "isn't that expensive" which worked out to be 60 USD for a steak I did not eat which was very dissapointing. Recommend a stay here, although I dod not recommend a steak from the rooftop bar as it also came out warm and not hot. Overall 4 out of the 5 stars.

We stayed at the Gran Meliá for one night before beginning our safari, and had a great time to get over our long flight. The hotel is incredibly luxurious and the first thing you see is a lovely lilypad garden with a beautiful lobby. The staff were super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to meet and help us. Our room was beautiful and very big, with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the gardens on the hotel roof. The hotel is also known for its rooftop bar which has incredible views of the nearby mountain. We enjoyed dinner and drinks there which was lovely and had a very calm vibe. Onto the food, which was very tasty. We especially enjoyed some sandwiches from the coffee shop when we arrived that were some of the best we have ever had and great value. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed a tour of their vegetable garden where the gardeners enthusiastically showed us around and got us to smell and try all their produce which is used in their restaurant. Their coffee plant beans are used in the coffee served and sold the hotel.

Our stay at the Gran Meliá Arusha hotel was simply incredible. We were lucky to spend two nights there, and the experience completely exceeded our expectations. The food was truly spectacular, every detail meticulously attended to, and the service was warm, attentive, and full of kindness. We especially want to thank Emmanuel, who prepared a delicious ginger tea that made our stay even more special. Additionally, during our visit, we had the opportunity to explore Arusha National Park, and it was a unique experience that made this trip even more unforgettable. Thank you to the entire team for making us feel so well cared for and for turning these days into such a pleasant experience. The facilities are impressive, and the room was even better than we imagined. We promise to return.
