Enjoyed the architecture and the swimming pool. Lovely stay, although the food was just slightly less impressive than Ngorongoro Serena. Feedback regarding the female receptionist who worked ~11:30AM on 24 Aug 2026 - I cannot comprehend why she would be so adamantly confident to say our guide had already taken them our lunch boxes when my friend asked about them. It would literally take at most 2 minutes to check this detail for us. In the end she was wrong and we had more delays as we had to wait for our guide to collect the lunch boxes.

Lodge with a wonderful view of Lake Manyara. The buildings fit perfectly with the environment. We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff but truly all the staff was friendly and welcoming. Buffet meals were great and had some local food for guests to try.
This was a fantastic stop on our way out to the Serengeti. The rooms were very nice and the setting was romantic. We were there in the off season but there was one breakfast where it was just my wife and I and it was very nice. The staff is fantastic as well and the rooms were also nice.
The grounds were wonderful, the bed was comfortable, the restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately, there was a very short power outage during our stay and while the lights and everything came back on. The internet stayed off - but it was ok to be not connected - it gave us some time to clean up our pictures from the first part of our trip. We also tried to find the walking trail to the right of the rooms, but we were not able to find it. The room was quite warm, and since there was no screen on the balcony door, we couldn’t leave it open in the evenings for fresh air. Thankfully, the fan in the room helped a bit. There was no tip box, as we have seen at other Tanzanian lodges. So we had to hand out money to all the staff we connected with.
Beautiful intimate and relaxed hotel. Wasn't busy when we went. At night time, security guards are present to walk you to your rooms to avoid any wild predators (who occasionally visit the property to drink from its pools) This lodge has the best view of the pool and lake Manyara I love the rooms which resemble birds nests, round with wooden roofs made from tightly stacked branches (Makuti style) crating a cozy African feel As for the restaurant and lounge area, they consist of handmade wood carvings; and high pointed and exposed wood beams roofs Breakfast is severed till 9:30 am as guest are expected to join safari tours earlier in the morning Best time to visit is end of January, the weather is pleasant and grounds are lush green
