Embarkation Day

This morning, take your private transfer from your Victoria Falls hotel to Three Monkeys Restaurant in the centre of Victoria Falls town, where you'll join the shared transfer to Msuna Island. The approximately 3-hour road journey is conducted in closed, air-conditioned vehicles. On arrival at Msuna Island Jetty, a short tender transfer brings you aboard the Zambezi Trader — a spacious and luxurious houseboat on the iconic Lake Kariba, featuring 29 cabins across 3 decks, a gym and spa. This afternoon, the vessel departs towards the islands of Elephant Bay. Settle in, enjoy sundowner drinks and dinner onboard as you begin your Zambezi River adventure.

Day 2

Zambezi River and Lake Kariba Cruise

This morning, an early wake-up call is followed by breakfast onboard before heading out by tender boat to explore the inlets and bays for wildlife, birdwatching and fishing. Return to the vessel to freshen up before lunch is served as the Zambezi Trader cruises upstream to the magnificent Gwayi River estuary. This afternoon, further tender boat activities and a guided walking safari offer wonderful opportunities to explore the surrounding wilderness. As the sun dips, sundowners are enjoyed before returning onboard. The evening's highlight is a memorable barbeque beach braai dinner served under the stars, subject to water levels and weather conditions.

Day 3

Lake Kariba and Devil’s Gorge

This morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast as the Zambezi Trader cruises back towards Msuna Island. After freshening up, embark on a full day of safari exploration in the remarkable Devil's Gorge Conservancy, where lunch and drinks are served amid stunning wilderness scenery. Later, return to Msuna Island Jetty for the tender transfer back to the vessel. This afternoon, the Zambezi Trader departs once again down the Zambezi River towards the islands of Elephant Bay. As the light fades over the water, sundowner drinks are served on deck before sitting down to dinner onboard for another magical evening on the river.

Zambezi River and Lake Kariba Cruise

This morning, an early wake-up call is followed by breakfast onboard before departing by tender boat to explore the inlets and bays for wildlife, birdwatching and fishing. Optional paid land-based activities can be pre-booked or arranged onboard, subject to availability. Return to the Zambezi Trader mid-morning, then enjoy lunch as the vessel cruises upstream to the Gwayi River estuary. This afternoon, tender boat activities continue with further exploration of the surrounding waterways, with an optional paid guided walk also available. As sunset approaches, sundowners are served on deck before returning onboard to freshen up and gather for another wonderful dinner on the Zambezi Trader.

Disembarkation & Departure

This morning, enjoy a final leisurely breakfast onboard as the Zambezi Trader cruises back to Msuna Island. After breakfast, a short tender boat transfer brings you to Msuna Island Jetty to disembark and begin your onward journey. Road transfers depart in closed, air-conditioned vehicles, with a travel time of approximately 3 hours to your next destination — whether that's Hwange National Park, Victoria Falls Airport or Victoria Falls town. Private transfers or light aircraft options from Deka Airfield are also available at additional cost, should you prefer a more flexible or scenic departure from this unforgettable Zambezi River experience.
